WHEN WE DRINK OUR HEADS MAGRITTE GONE

by Lauren Hilger

_

only our hats remain
my face sky I am apple present
_
there’s no ending you feel just marbles
loosed from the sky like weather
_
you want me to stop
drinking like this to just
_
throw my sombrero in the air with you
everyone’s pistol going off the pianist trying not to get shot
_
I’m the only man here
who’s spent my montane time alone
_
and Colorado had only its seizing
panic had only a return flight home
_
I scream in bed
going through a god period
my third rail electric hot.
